Word by Word and Book by Book, Here's our Reading List

Remember, back in grade school, when all the teachers used to say "If you want to be smarter, you have to read more."

Well, we've compiled a short list of books that might do just that...for the business professional. So, take a moment to look at these titles and get your summer reading list ready!

1. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

Dale Carnegie explains in his book how to communicate and interact with people in a meaningful way. Carnegie shows how it all comes down to showing interest in the people you interact with and doing so makes that connection, gaining you a friend.

2. Selling the Invisible: A Field Guide to Modern Marketing by Harry Beckwith

In his book , Harry Beckwith provides an easy to read guide to marketing that opens your eyes to new ideas. Beckwith’s advice is applicable to just about every industry. This book proposes an idea that services should be viewed as something to sell, just like a product. It specifically addresses the challenges of a “service” business. Most lessons contain examples from the sales and marketing efforts of companies, or anecdotes from the author’s experiences.

3. Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us by Seth Godin

Seth Godin is a bestselling author, entrepreneur and agent of change. Tribes is a powerful reminder to us all about marketing, and how it’s following an idea that you believe in passionately and then sharing that passion with others, getting them to believe in you. “Tribes: We Need You to Lead Us” is a book on leadership, social change and creating movement. It’s a motivating book that places emphasis on embracing change and overcoming fear.
