What a Lucky Duck...

Creating your own luck

It's a common occurrence nowadays that when something goes well in our careers, academics, or personal lives, that someone says "Wow, you are so lucky!"

Call me crazy, but I don't really like to attribute those moments as luck. Yes, there are moments of luck that can help, but nothing that really changes everything with the drop of a hat.

So let me first explain what luck is...

luck is “success or failure apparently

brought by chance rather than through one’s own actions.”

Though, I believe, one has to take an action

to even get the chance. If an action is not taken, how would you ever get a

chance to be successful or fail?

Luck and opportunities aside...

All of the people that make their own luck have a killer work ethic, incredible attitude, and never give up when "luck" doesn't just provide them with everything.

So, next time you feel like you want to tell someone how lucky they are for their successes, take a moment to observe and understand them...chances are, that you are missing out on an opportunity to learn something and apply it to your life.

Make your own luck, don't wait to see if the opportunity comes up, make it happen!
